In a world where most of my time is spent reading articles online, following trends and analyzing – connecting the dots between people, brands & technology – I cannot help capturing this moment in time when my first concept makes global headlines.

It all started back in 07.07.2008 – the day i started this blog. Only 6months later, and I found my one true love – Social Networks, a Strategic Love Affair and started posting the development of my obsession with online and offline integration of social networks & media – month by month, trend by trend it came to life. LiquidChefs – were the crazy entrepreneurs that took my “online social networks is the way to go” mindset to heart (still thanking my stars someone was crazy enough to listen to me 🙂 and in association with Martini – the long road of development, refining, strategizing & testing began. Nothing can be achieved in isolation, and without a solid team, this would still have been “just another interesting blog with maybe some good ideas”
But it is not. And the development began. First the brand development – well done to Rex Creative – the MiWORLD visual language came to life with a burst of colourful energy brightening up our lives!
Then, web development, application development, on site touch technology development, social media development, emailer & template development, develop develop develop…
Thereafter 101 Collective – literally worked through the night for 2 months straight to get all the on-site technology development and online / offline integration sorted for the auspicious launch of MiBAR Martini in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
But first, the magical transformation from this –
To 3 days later ( I just have to mention, that Shai Evian from LiquidChefs is the master of magic, it was an unbelievable privilege to work with someone so highly motivated, with such attention to detail and a drive to take over the world – literally, in just 3 days he transformed what was nothing, to now becoming one of the worlds most talked about bars : )
After the Soft Launch on the 18th of February 2010, I could breathe again, and since it has just been a pleasure watching the concept evolve, watching people get involved, and watching the guys at LiquidChefs taking the concept to new heights. For me, well it has been one massive learning curve, and still is, integrating online & offline social media is not as easy in practice as in theory, but when you do get it right – the results are worth the effort.
In the end it really is all about connecting the dots between people, brands & technology to bring the right buyers to the right sellers and provide people with what they want, when they want it, how they want it – dipped in a little bit of surprize sugar syrup!

But what does all of this really mean? That if you believe in your concepts and ideas, find the right people to execute and run with it, and put in the hard work, you will soon find the answer – I believe in magic ***
